Wow, there is quite a range in prices. We charge a flat rate of $10 depending on the number of characters. It the number of characters .30 x #of characters is less than $10-we charge a flat $10, of it goes over we charge accordingly.

We established this engraving charge based on a local jeweler which gives us all his business.

Just my 2 cents.

If I sold the plaque (i.e. I have the set up on file) I charge $5.00 per plate (plus I have extras in stock that match). If I didn't sell the plaque it ranges from $7.50 - $15.00 depending if they want 'perfect match' and how many lines the plate has. Some of these brought in have been done by so many different engravers the customer just doesn't care about a match or not.

Hi Zona,
Our prices and yours match exactly. If they bring in a piece that I have a setup for - $7.50. If they bring in a piece we have to measure and fiddle with $15.00. We don't meet much resistance with those prices.

My pricing is exactly the same - $7.50 or $15. If I am selling them the plaque, I offer to allow them to pay for updating in advance at $4.50 per plate. Pretty good deal because we rarely do every plate on the plaque - hehe. Sadly, these plaques don't get 'perpetuated' for long, most of the time. Although, I have a couple of corporate customers that would rather pay in advance then have to pay $7.50 each time and they DO fill up their plaques year after year.

I have always struggled with what to charge when I have to make a new perpetual plate that requires drilling and attaching. Lately I have been charging $4 a hole for drilling and attaching or $31 for a plate that will have several names on it. This is based on $15 to engrave and $4 per hole.
