Hey, Dave, what high school did you go to ?? I went to Jefferson :)  West side is the best side :LOL

I lived in Ft. Madison, IA until I was 11 and we moved to ..... you guessed it .... Cedar Rapids, IA

After that I lived in Iowa City and in the country and in small towns in between the 2 cities until the mid '80's. Starting a family and being a single parent and returning to college as an older student. I met my current husband, we married and moved to Mesa, Az. (Good Lord, was it really 20 years ago???)

I started my career as a computer consultant (at a later age than most) so we moved to AZ.

We got homesick and moved back to the Tiffin / Oxford/Iowa City area (my husband is from Oxford, IA)

Again a career move and we moved back to Phoenix in '93
and finally to southern Iowa in '95 where we bought a farm and I traveled to keep working, but the family stayed put.

I quit my career after burn out in 2002. Unfortunately a few months later my husband was severely injured in a construction accident. I took care of him for the next couple of years and we decided that things needed to change in our lives since he would not be able to go back to work. We are still fighting SSDI for his disability.

I started my embroidery business and we sold part of the farm to finance everything so I could go to large horse shows. Being so rural, I didn't feel that there was enough business to support us locally.

I have added dye-sub in the past year and love it. I am not sure about the direction of my business right now. After 3 years in business, I am going to have to go back to computer consulting to be able to keep us afloat for awhile. I know that marketing is my downfall and am working on it.

The fire was in 1968..A little before my time. They made sure it was the first thing you saw when you got on board, to let you know what happens when people screw up...

Jeanette,

The mention of Cotati and Santa Rosa (Northern California) makes me homesick, and I've never lived there. :-)

We occasionally vacation in Sonoma County, along the Russian River.

Nice!

Born in Topeka, Kansas - my parents still live in the house they brought me home from the hospital to. What's so special about this is I'm an Air Force "Sweety - never a brat " :P

Married Steve - stayed in Topeka but moved 3 times before buying our 10 acres in 1975 and building our current house in 1977.

But travel we do :-)  I get bored if I don't take a vacation or trip at least every 3 months. (devil)

Ah, yes.... I remember when you were seen walking around the block for hours on end with a bag of your belongings thrown over your shoulder. :S

When asked what you were doing, you replied, "running away from home!" :'-(

When asked why you keep going around the same block you replied, "cause I'm not allowed to cross the street!" >.<

Maiden name is Lozea. Lived there from approx. 1948-1957. My parents owned a dry cleaning store and my aunt & uncle owned a dry goods store. I would not wish living in White County back then on my worst enemy. I was the only Jewish kid in school and left handed to boot. I had a teacher tell me that the devil sits on the left shoulder of God as she was hitting my hand with a ruler. Not many pleasant memories, however, living there certainly contributed to my feelings about people who judge others by their skin color, religion or political affiliation.

Sorry for the rant.
Dee
