Peter,

Based solely on my knowledge of these controllers, the Vision Series 3 is one series higher than the Vision Series 2. (3-2=1) :S

I are some links to some feature pages that may allow you to do a side by side comparison of the differences.

Sorry Peter! I was a tad late coming to the party. Took a couple days of from work, which included the Forum, God forbid.

I have a Series 3 controller. Not having had a rotary computerized engraver previously, I cannot make a comparison between the "3" and the Series 2...or 1.

In any event, it sounds like you got what you were looking for from the links supplied by "MO".

For whatever it's worth, many with Series 1 users have upgraded their controllers to Series 2. Unfortunately, some of those have complained about "things" happening as a result. In at least one case, they went back to their original "1" because it worked better. The concensus seems to be that it depends on the expertise of the techs doing the upgrade. Not necessarily that the "1" was better than the "2". If Vision did the upgrade, everything seemed to work fine.

As for upgrading from a "2" to a "3", I have not heard from anyone having done that as yet. Somewhere in the back of my mind, I seem to recall that the Series 3 is so advanced over the "2", that upgrading may not be possible. But I'm not positive.

One thing...the Series 3 requires Windows XP.

I realize this all more than you wanted to know.
