Still in the startup phase, but I am designing some projects now and as soon as I get the machine and run some stuff that is actually worth looking at (i.e. anything that would detract from my ugly mug) I am game. Very cool idea. Another forum that I am a part of that is not engraving related, but works with helping new startup businesses actually does the same thing and it works out really cool for letting people get to know eachother.

Franklin,

Thank you for your offer. We'll put you in the lineup.

As you say, this will be another way for our members to know who they're (typing) talking to online. :-)

David,

It sounds like you are about to get into the video and media production, it's a lot of fun, but also a great deal of work. One word of advice is "BANDWIDTH" a short video will be 30-40 megs in size for storage and plan on at least a gigabyte of download bandwidth for each one. Those are the numbers so far for each video we have done, and you have more members so your download bandwidth is going to be much larger.

Soon you will be known as the "Stunt Producer" B-)

Ken,

The Member Spotlights will be text with photos, although some of our features will be videos.

For videos, beyond brief tips and tricks, we'll probably offer an online sample, with the full version available on DVD.

Thanks for the heads up. :-)

David,

DVD's, now that will be a ton of work and very time consuming . Camtasia uses 4-6 megabytes per minute of video, compressed. DivX videos from your video camera is 6-10 megabytes per minute. Bandwidth would still be cheaper than making DVD's.
