Full Version: CorelDRAW Unleashed Boot Camps

I'm new to the forum, but I'm sure there are many familiar names in here. I've been teaching CorelDRAW for the last 13 years and have attended numerous industry events.

For those who aren't familiar, I teach an intense CorelDRAW course each month. The CorelDRAW Unleashed Boot Camp is the ultimate CorelDRAW X3 and Corel PHOTO-PAINT X3 learning experience. You will learn all the information you need to get the most out of CorelDRAW X3 and Corel PHOTO-PAINT X3 in three days of intense training at our training theater in Cave Creek, Arizona!

Some will ask if it is engraving specific? The short answer is no. You will learn a number of things in both CorelDRAW and Corel PHOTO-PAINT. Most of them do apply to some form of engraving. But most of you also need to promote your business and CorelDRAW is a great tool for doing that. So you'll also learn some things that can help with that aspect of your business. We do have a modified agenda geared towards laser engraving at one of our October classes.

Details of the Boot Camps along with the schedule can be found at http://www.unleash.com/training/coreldrawbootcamp.asp

We have a very special class in January on the high seas. Our CorelDRAW Boot Camp Cruise will allow you a little rest and relaxation in addition to the same amount of training we provide in our normal Boot Camps. In fact, it might even be cheaper to attend on the cruise. Details can be found at http://www.unleash.com/training/coreldrawbootcampcruise.asp

Foster,

Welcome to the forum. I've always enjoyed your articles in trade magazines, as well as the information available on your website.

The CorelDRAW Boot Camp Cruise is a great idea. It's a great way to make a cruise tax deductible. ;-)

P.S. My wife is a KU grad. I know you have a certain allegiance to the Jayhawks.

Foster:

Welcome. Like many others I have benefitted from the tutorials on your web site and your many articles in the various trade publications.

In fact, when I was first starting in this business I think I spent more time on your site than in any other learning exercise.

So thanks for that and again, welcome.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, I am still a diehard Jayhawk fan. I still go to a basketball game or two every season even though it is a long road trip.

We are pretty excited about the cruise. One of the laser manufacturers is even talking about bringing a machine on board so that people who aren't familiar with it can give it a spin. Several other vendors are also talking about bringing equipment specific to their industry. We're hoping we have a great turnout. Who can pass up training and a lot of fun that is tax deductible? :)

Welcome to our forum.

We haven't put our events calendar up yet, but when we do, your events will be proudly listed.

I love the business/pleasure concept. :-)

Hi ya there Dude - Foster
Way down from DownUnder here in Australia we welcome you on board.
I too am a fan of Corel Unleashed and find your comments very informative. Your articles in the journals are very direct and very informative. Keep up the good work buddy.
Corel is one of the best as far as I'm concerned and having a guy like you we can all learn.
Pity your boat cruise ain't down our way as I'm sure we could fill a deck or two.
Do you have any plans at all in visiting Aussie for some of the trade shows we have.

David,

Thanks for the welcome. Just let me know when the events calendar is ready. I'm always looking for new ways to get the word out about Boot Camps. You should join us on the cruise!

Chuck,

Aloha to you. I LOVE Maui. Was just there last November (my fourth visit) and already looking forward to the next trip. Heck, my neighbors are over there right now and they keep sending me messages about all they are doing. I just wanna go to the Aloha Mixed Plate for some Kalua pig! Glad that you've enjoyed the book.

Johnny,

Glad you've enjoyed the book as well. We definitely are interesting is testing the cruise idea in other areas of the world. Probably the next test would be Europe in the summer of 2007. It is very hard for us to plan training at a long distance and the ship makes it a LOT easier to do. Of course, I'm always interested in doing on-site training if someone local can put a group together. Heck, if Australia can name a beer after me, there has to be interest in some training from me! :)

Foster,

What do you consider a "local" group?

The reason I ask, is, in the future, we plan to put on "Engraving Etc. Live!, which will be educational events, periodically held around the country (and as we grow, other countries).

We have speakers lined up for our first event, but depending on the locations and the schedules of the various speakers, we'll be looking to add other people to the lineup.

Someone, such as yourself, for instance. :-)

David,

Your events sound like the type of event that would be perfect. Back when we first started the business, we would do single day seminars around the US. Unfortunately it is hard to reach enough people in other cities to make the seminars worth doing.

Sometimes we have someone in a city that wants a seminar. So they set up everything and attract the attendees and I simply come in and teach. I also speak at a number of trade shows and other industry events.

Basically if someone can give me an idea of what attendees need to learn, I can put together an agenda to meet those needs. When you are ready to plan the next events, give me a call or an e-mail and we'll see what we can work out.

Foster,

I'm sure, the bigger the audience, the more varied the needs.

I imagine you've heard feedback ranging from "Too advanced" to "Not advanced enough" all from the same presentation. :-)

I'll definitely be in touch.

Thanks,

David,

I've probably heard just about every feedback you can imagine. Definitely those you mentioned and much more. I look forward to discussing it further.

I noticed that Foster Coburn has another working vacation lined up.

This time, it's a Mediterranean cruise!

David,

I'll let you know how the Boot Camps work out over water in about 3 weeks when I get back from the Caribbean.

I hope the sight seeing doesn't get in the way of class. Although, Foster will be diving on most of the stops, so, I guess it's like one of my high school teachers said: "You're not late if you get in the room before I do".

John,

Looking forward to your report from the trenches. :-)

I'm the original "Seasick Sea Serpent" and not a good candidate for cruises.

Otherwise, I'd love to be in on the Mediterranean cruise.
