Full Version: Accessing cell phone images

I just bought a new cell phone with a built in camera. LG VX5200 if that means anything to anyone. Takes a respectable image when you're not totin real heat.

Here's my question. Right now the only way to access these images on my Verizon Wireless account is to email them to myself at a $0.25/image charge.....right. There HAS to be a way to download images directly from the cell phone. Anyone know how?

You might be able to do it via USB since there is no bluetooth on it. Here are two resources for you.

If there is a way to do it on that phone without using your Verizon, Howard Forums has the answer.

Mike, Shady,

Thanks! The Howards site did in fact have a product with USB cable & SW I can use to download pics to a PC. Best part is that it only costs the equivalent of 2 months of Verison's service.

Glad you found your answer.

HoFo's site can be a little addicting (alright, VERY addicting) when you have a new cell phone to play with. :-)

Yeah! And your pictures aren't "filtered" through Verizon's employees and web server!

What good is a private little camera in your phone if you have to go public (hey, sweetie, I'll be done in a minute! Put the ropes back on!) with them just to get them off your phone??? >.<  :S

I just hope Verizon hasn't disabled my phone in some way so that it won't work. I've read horror stories today about them

I came across the Howard forums a few weeks ago when searching for the same info as you for my Razr phone. It seems Verizon does disable a lot of features on most phones so they can charge extra to use them, but the folks at that forum seem to have figured out how to re-enable most of them. You just need to be careful. For the Razr there are methods to back up all of the settings befoere hacking them so you can get back to original if you need to.

Aloha boys and girls.

The $40 kit I got from Cellular Blowout works great with my Verizon LG phone. The pkg lists many other compatible phones.
