Hello Everyone,
I have been trying to look for the symbols/borders etc. and cannot for the life of me get to them.
I can get to symbols on the fonts, but can't find the others.
In my book it says they are on disc 2, but they aren't.
Anyone that can help me find them???
Thanks
Barb

Is this the X3 book? If so, the path to each thing is shown in the upper right, above whatever is in that group, just below the green border/divider.

For example, the buildings shapes shown on page 88 are in CD3\Symbols\TTF\Building.ttf (those kind of symbols are all parts of fonts)

Another example is the corner borders found on page 152. Those are in CD2\Clipart\Borders\Corners

X3 is my first version. Mine came with a book full of little pictures and the location of the images/fonts are shown on each page. Did your version come with an image preview book like that?

I would expect that since they've been supplying a lot of the same stuff with earlier versions that they probably arranged them about the same (but I'm just guessing).

Look in your clipart folder and see if there's a subfolder with borders or frames.

Hi Barb,

Dave is right. I have v12 and the symbols are on disk 2 under extra fonts and the borders are on the same disk under clipart. If you can't find the symbol you are looking for there, just ask here and someone will have it.

Hi there. I had a problem getting to the symbols too. Here is how I fixed it. I went to control panel on my computer, when to fonts. I added the particular group of symbols that I wanted for instance animals1. So from control panel, choose fonts, when there select file and you will see a selection that says add new font. Search for the file on your disk and select the category you want. It will load it as a font. Then when you go back into Corel go to the text tab, select insert character, use the pull down to find the category (ie. animals, festive, etc.).. it will display all the symbols....click and hit insert. The rest you can figure out. Hope that was clear... hope it helps you out. That drove me nuts... until I finally figured it out.

Good luck.

Nicole

Thanks for your kindness. I snoop around here a lot but usually don't have anything useful to supply. This is an excellent forum, full of lots of great information and inspiring advice.

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for the symbols that they are showing in front of the book that came with Corel 11.
In the front there are many pages with black and white graphics called symbols. They are listed as symbols/animals1, symbols/borders1, symbols/borders 2 and so on.
I cannot find these symbols. I have looked in the clipart and they have a sybols folder, but they are not these.
I also found the font folder in the control panel like suggested, and cannot find them that way either.

I have also looked on all of my discs and cannot find them.
I don't know if they are hidden somewhere, or if I am just stupid.

Help please. Corel 11, is what I need.
Thanks again,
Barb

Instead of using control panel, look on the Corel disc for a font folder and see if any of the fonts have similar names to what you are looking for (maybe abreviations or containing some of the letters in the names). You might be able to double click the fonts there to see what is inside them.

Look on disc 2 in the extra fonts folder then symbols. That is where they are located and you'll have to load them as fonts rather than clipart.

Just put the disc 2 in and have Font Navigator ready and you can use FN to install the ones you want or all of them.

I don't think you can view them except in the book until you load them.

Didn't someone post a link to software available free on the internet that helps categorize the Corel Draw Image Disks into a more usable search?

I think someone posted it on the forum, but I can't recall.

Are you thinking of ROMCat?

Yes, that was it.

But, it appears that it won't work so great if they stopped adding descriptions to their roms.
