Salukis become first-ever Gateway school to topple a Big Ten opponent.
Since were talking football - how about this. My dawgs (1-AA school) took out Indiana at their home field in Bloomington IN. yesterday with a 35-28 score. Indiana is a Big Ten (I - A) school with 85 scholarships while we have only 63. We lost 26 starters last year to graduation including our Quarterback from the last 4 years. The new Quarter Back was names Gateway player of the week today and is a local boy. We went into the game as big time under dogs - none of the so called experts thought it could happen - we went into the 2nd quarter down 14-0 but the boys stepped up got over being nervous in front of a large IN crowd and went to work.
Cannot help but be excited - I am an alumni as well as both my kids attend SIU. Go Dawgs!!!!

I'm certainly happy you didn't play my U. of Miami....looks like you would have killed us! :-(
