Thanks for answering Roy. An employee, no longer with
us, was working on this. I've got to get it running.
Am at home now. When I get to the shop, will review the
procedure. The plt. comes into the engraving program
from files loaded into the logomaker section of the system.
from discs or network. The logomaker program stalls in
opening them, or if it opens them & doesn't process them
to be available to the engraving program. I'll crank it up
when I go in and get back to you. more to follow... Ward

I hope it's not to late to learn.

Ward,

Before we get further input, sounds like either your logomaker program needs to be re configured or you've starting using a slightly different format of PLT files that it can't handle.

So an additional question, are you getting the PLT (HPGL) files from the same place you used to? That is, as Harvey pointed out, DesignCAD puts out a slightly different format depending on which version you are using. CorelDRAW puts out still a slightly different format. Your LogoMaker program will probably handle only certain formats of HPGL.

I'd be shocked if UI would not walk you through a solution to this even though you are out of warranty, but if not get us more info and we'll dig deeper.

thanks again Roy. I had to get back to the system, and
try it out a few times to see if I could articulate, and found
out that by following a later set of procedures sent by
UI a couple of years ago, it did load a logo from a
floppy disk that was downloaded from our regular plt
file almost all of which were produced in casmate.
We're swamped & only been able to get to the program
that one time, and hope to get on it later today. It may
be the procedure used by our old employee was what
was wrong. Will get back to you soon as I can.
