Full Version: Problem With New Site

Is anybody seeing images in the signatures?

I'm not, but I do see a rectangle show up quickly and go away in those posts made by folks who have always had images in their sigs.

Dave, in trying to figure out why I'm not seeing signatures I looked at the source code for this thread and saw that your post listed a signature image, but when I tried to look at the image directly it was not found on your server. Here is the url shown in your signature:

The images are there under the consideration that they still exist. I see mine and some others. My signature image is on my website David Takes' was on his server that went down. I have not checked if the images stored here are still properly linked.

Yeah, I saw yours was working after I posted.

I also noticed that the other one I was seeing flash but not show up, which was Chucks, seems to also have been hosted on Dave's server. So that explains why I saw a couple different ones flash a box and not show up. They're both on the same server.

Dave,

My websites and images were on the same sever as the forum, they are still down. :-(

I'm in the process of moving everything over to GoDaddy, but I am running into some conflicts with the structure and security of my shopping cart program and GoDaddy's hosting restrictions. My saga continues.

Thanks for looking out for me. I may just post the signature on a different site and make the change in my signature.

As I've mentioned in earlier IM's, I'm not seeing your signature file on here David Takes.

David Takes' site is down and Chuck's logo was also stored there. You should see mine because it is on my server.

All can be seen now. I realized after my posting that others had already mentioned it. Next time I will read through all of the posts first.

Still having problems with this bug....any leadtime on the fix?

David may have the answer, I do not.

We also found a major bug in the ability to make a poll, at this time it is useless. More time to have Eric put in.

Brian,

According to the BH developers, the "Mark as Read" bug (and others) will be fixed in the next release, (0.7.2) which we were told would be out shortly after Christmas.

That's the official word. Time will tell how that translates into real world terms.

As always, if there are specific folders in which readers have no interest, those folders can be "minimized" by clicking the "-" symbol, located at the right-hand side of the folder title.

Using that option will allow the folder title itself to be seen and none of the posts within.

I was told April-May for the majority of bugs to be fixed. It has many more than what the users have mentioned. A couple of them are major with the database in ver 7.0-7.1. I'm really surprised you even tried the new version, since the developers were saying it was more of a beta version.

Someone has to do the beta testing. :-$

Brian,

According to Sprinter, there's more than one version of the official word.

Knowing that the BH developers work on the software in their spare time, I'd expect fixes to come later, rather than sooner.

Some of the bugs are more serious than others, although, from what we've seen so far, none are standing in the way of us living up to our mission statement.

Our admin. (Eric) is capable of fixing some as we discover them.

There are enough improvements in this version, compared to v.5, that I'm happy with the upgrade.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season.

Happy new Year!

Can't you revert back to the prior version with fewer bugs ? I too am waiting for the "mark all as read" feature.

Mick,

That was a question I had.

From what I'm told, there's no turning back.

Mick,

It really isn't a bug. It's David's gift to you to get you to read every post. I haven't missed a post in years. How could you pass up on an opportunity to learn? :-(

Just kidding. I know that there are many here who don't use all technologies. Different strokes for different folks.

Bill,

The "Mark all Messages as Read" feature should be working now.

I have no way of telling. I read 'em all and have none to globally mark as read. :-)

Please let me know if it's working for you.

Thanks,
