Full Version: IE Version 7.0.5

Just upgraded me IE to version 7 after using it on our personal computer for a week or so. I was not sure I would like it at first but as I like to open new windows for links rather than using the back button the "Open in a new tab" is a nice upgrade.

Now here is the problem. On our home computer this feature works like a champ. Much faster than a new window and I can keep browsing the site looking for more to read while the new tab is opening. On this computer "Open in a new tab" opens a new window not a new tab. It appears that IE is configured the same on both computers but obviously something is not the same.

Anyone else with this problem?

Try this:

Go to Tools>Internet Options. On the general tab, there is a section for tab viewing. That's where you you can adjust the settings.

I guess I'm more of a traditionalist....I like IE 6 better. V7 is functional, but I simply prefer V6.

Is there a way to REVERT back to V6?

Unfortunately they say that once you update the database to run V.7 you cannot go back.

Just what is about .7 that you do not like? We may be able to undo some of the functions to restore to the original. The search feature may be improved with the next .7 update.

I really like the preview of the JPG attachments.

Harvey,

I believe Cody is referring to Internet Explorer.

Duh, he said that right in his post.

I have to learn to wake up, (seriously), before I post. I usually start EE before taking my first sip of tea. Occasionally it shows, like now. :-$

Cody, as I understand it (and I upgraded to 7.0 and love it ... after using it for a week) you can go to the start menu, settings button, control panel, add/remove programs, delete internet explorer 8.0 and your old 6.0 Internet Explorer will be there waiting for you.

Your up to 8.0? WOW! I'm still stuck on 7.0!

John,

Wasn't trying to catch you! I was hoping v. 8 was out and fixed the bugs in v. 7!!! (angel)
