As said earlier....The "Permanant wave" idea is only as good as the system being used.
I know everyone likes to talk big about booting those that want to stay annonomous, but the threat of being booted when you have no way to really verify anyone is legit, is just an empty threat. It may make members that are legit feel good, but it's unlikely to ever happen even if someone is playing games.
A permanant boot will be impossible with the system that you are discussing at this point. If you think cost will make someone think twice....The $3.00 per month (I believe that was a price that I saw) isn't that much of a gamble for somone to take. They get caught and come back with the $3.00 per month option until they get caught again...etc... Not real a permanant boot at that rate.
What it comes down to is that you will be working on an honor system with no permanant bootings. You may be able to dissuade people like that with higher rates, or skipping the monthly option, but that risks forum growth and will limit new member opportunities because of the bigger price hit......To be honest, for the amount of problems that you currently have with annonomous members, I really doubt that you would notice them in the new forum in the first place....I mean there is a reason that they wish to stay annonomous anyway ....they clearly don't want the attention..... :)
