Full Version: Embroidery forum?

Hi, again,

No folder for embroidery here so I'll just pop this into the General folder (someday I'd like to see an Admiral folder, too).

This has nothing to do with engraving, I know, but there are some embroiderers that visit here, and embroidery is a form of decoration (albeit primarily for clothing).

There are some emboidery forums out there but I have yet to find one with the kind of audience Engraving, Etc draws. With smaller audiences/fewer users, information is not disseminated very well.

Is there an embroidery forum similar to this one out there?

Thanks,
Michael

There was one called Estitches in the forum links folder of the DSSI forum on Delphi. I visited there a number of times when it was new. At that time at least it had a good crowd. I just ran out of time to keep visiting it.

My time is so limited lately that I do not get a chance to visit the new DSSI much. A shame really, because I really enjoy that one also.

Michael,

I'll create a folder for embroidery. If you find Estitches to be what you're looking for, please take a moment to create a link, through the "Links" option at the top of this page.

I am one of the embroiderers that visit here. I subscribe to an email list and that is the best information I get. I haven't found a good forum for embroidery either.

Rebecca,

All I can say is, "Tell a Friend." :-)

This forum was started with the knowledge that an increasing number of processes fall under the "Awards & Engraving Industry" umbrella. Embroidery is certainly one.

I only have knowledge of the topic through seeing the equipment at trade shows. I would love to see you and your fellow embroiderers turn this site into the "Embroiderers Forum" for the benefit of all.

Tammy,

In your spare time (I know. Yeah, right) since you're familiar with those forums, could you please create some links in "Links" at the top of this page?

A brief description of the nature of the forums would be nice.

If the information people seek can't be found here, I want to make sure they can find what they're looking for on other online forums.

Thanks,

Greetings All,

We just jumped into the wholsale/retail embroidery arena as one of our processes/offerings (2 slashes/1sentence is this legal?). I'd love to see a folder here as well. Thanks David/all. ...;-)

Lloyd,

The embroidery folder has been added, and it's off to a good start.

Some people may think that embroidery is out of the awards and engraving arena, though, you're living proof that it's one of the processes being used in our industry. Where there's one, surely there are more.

I've consulted with the slash police and your two slashes in one sentence doesn't constitute an infraction :-)

Wow!

Thanks for the folder. I wasn't fishing for one, but looks like it is already generating interest as well as providing some really great information.

I've been to many websites to look at these machines and am starting to investigate the market to see if I want to sink that kind of money into an embroidery machine. I'm doing the same with engraving machines. Regrettfully I can only afford one of 'em right now.

I posted to this forum for two reasons: there are lots of folks that post here on a variety of subjects, and the name is Engraving, ETC (I hoped the ETC would be what I needed).

Thanks to all of you!!!

Michael,

The key to engraving is personalization..... taking a common item and converting it to a unique gift.... I believe the "etc." would cover most methods of personalization.

Welcome aboard!

Stunt Man/Engraver,

Thanks for the slash break. I'll take further discussions re: embroidery to the new folder. See you and all that can make it in Vegas.

Lloyd,
Would it be ok if I gave you a call sometime?
I am new to this entire industry and am in the process of relocating my shop. It's a long story, but where I am moving back to, I will most definitely need to diversify and embroidery is one area I was thinking of.
Let me know.

Thanks

LaZer,

Absoulutely. We've just entered the embroidery arena and I'll be happy to impart my thimble full of wisdom. We're on Right Coast time. Call accordingly ;-)
