Full Version: JDS wood pens

Hello all!

I had a customer give me an RFQ for 300 engraved wood pens. I have seen several in catalogs but never handled them. I'm looking for a solid balance between quality and affordability.

Thumbing through the JDS catalog it looks like they have good prices on wood pens. For those who have used them, are they of good quality? Comments? Problems?

Do both the maple and rosewood versions engrave with acceptable results?

Thank you!

I think you will find better prices from Aeropen and or American National Supply (also known as Imark). If you do a search here you should find the contact info for both. Aeropen has a web page with so called retail prices. Call them for prices. Tell them you are an engraver. I have never had a problem with the quality from either of these suppliers.

Thanks for the info! Do you recall what you've paid for wood pens through Aeropen?

I don't know how their prices compare, but another place that was mentioned here a while ago is www.atlaspen.com (enter wood pen in the search box)

Dave,

Their published price is $1.05 higher than LaserBits, and they have a minimum quantity of 50 pieces. However, their pens do come engraved.

Do you have to have a dealer log-in to get dealer pricing?

I've never dealt with them. I remember them being mentioned here a while ago in reference to rosewood pen boxes and remembered that they also had pens, so posted the link.

Hello, I did a slew of the JDS wood pens for a local club. I was very pleased with the results. Combine the pen with a box and a trinket, made for very nice gifts that the club gave out at their annual Xmas banquet (along with a TON of plaques and other awards)

Oh, and I completely forgot to mention that the JDS wooden pens write well. Smooth, and reliable ink delivery (unlike some of the others I have used in the past)
