Rog,

If thats all you did to get it to work then I would clean and lube the Z axis assembly real good. It sounds like it is just dirty and causing the Z axis to hang up.

Hello Puck,

I will do an extra clean and lube job on the z axis. I recently engraved a large number of brass door knockers and that may have contributed to the problem of the z axis hanging up.

Is this a Great Forum or is it a Great Forum?. I am very greatful for all the help I have gotten .

Hello David,

I haven't fully learned how to use this forum, but I have fully learned that it is very very very helpful. I have gotten some very good and clear help with my problem I had with my Meistergram. Thank you for walking me through the registeration process. My hope is that at some point I will be able to give some help to someone just as I have received help. We are all in this thing together. Engraving etc is a wonderful tool. It is just like going to my tool box to get the right tool I need to help me to get a job done.

O yes David! The Mackeizie Quiros I mentioned to you was mentioned to me by Laserman. I met him about 8 years ago. I last saw him about 2 years ago at one of the shows. Thank again David.

Roger,

When you first contacted me and mentioned you were having difficulties in registering, I told you that I'd be happy to assist, by posing your questions to the forum.

I have no doubt, that tact would have generated much of the useful information you received.

As you discovered, by having direct contact with the people of the forum, your issue was handled much more effectively and expediently.

Nothing's perfect and we're striving to make the registration process and navigation of the forum software more user friendly.

Having said that, when it comes to the shortest distance between two points, with those points being a person in need and the solution they seek, this method of broadcasting; this near-live access to the movers and shakers in our industry, may very well be, as close to perfection as you'll find.

Of course, that's my somewhat biased opinion. :-)

Thank you for joining us and I'm ecstatic to hear your success story.

You have no idea of how much help you have given others just by posing your problem here. You are not the first nor will you be the last that has had a "sticky" z axis problem.

The fact that this is an open forum where everyone gets to see the problem and the solutions helps everyone. If not now, in the future if the same symptoms occur.
