Not much call for pantographs these days, but if you're going to have one, the GTX Universal is the toy you'll want.
Why?
The ability to engrave up to 15" diameter bowls and large silverplated serving trays, not to mention everything else that may come your way.
This is a heads up for the SoCal area. I just spoke to a person who may have one (or two) of these machines for sale.
I'll scout them out and let you know what I find.
Due to their size and weight, shipping would be a hassle, but doable, for what would probably be a pretty stiff fee.
Also keep in mind that our friend Paul, just posted a healthy list of brass pantograph type up for grabs.
Could be a marriage made in heaven. (angel)

Getting closer to a viewing of this equipment.
I spoke to one of our forum members (SoCal) in Las Vegas and he may have dibs on one of the machines. :-)

I called the people with the machines and they said they'd contact me, regarding a good time to come by and see them.

Yesterday, I got a chance to see the pantographs. Turns out there is only one GTX-Universal. The other is a GTX-Super, or what are commonly referred to as "Trophy" machines.
Since the machines were stored in an outside tool shed, there is some rust, but not extensive. The machines should clean up very well. Accessories and type were kind of spread out, so I asked them to get all those pieces together, so I could determine what kind of "starter kit" could be offered to a potential buyer.
The people are trying to make room in their garage and don't plan to make a return to pantograph engraving, therefore, I'm sure any reasonable offer will be accepted.
Once I see what attachments and accessories are available, I'd be able to suggest a "reasonable" offer.

Ruben,
The GTX Universal is the one you'll want.
The ability to engrave up to 18" platters and up to 15" diameter bowls, not only sets it apart from smaller pantographs (The Super is smaller) but will enable you to engrave objects the majority of state-of-the-art computerized systems can't touch.
As much emphasis as I put on the Universal's ability to engrave large objects, it's also capable of engraving small pieces of jewelry etc.
Before I can put my seal of approval on this machine, as something I'd recommend buying, I want to make sure it comes with a sufficient supply of jigs and type.
Otherwise, those accessories will be expensive to buy (unless they can be found used) and that will play a serious role, in what a "reasonable offer" should be.

Who knows? Never been to St. Louis. :-)
I get enough odd jobs, some of which are only (or best) engravable by pantograph, so I'll be sure to come up with tutorials along the way.
Ruben's in a good position, since he's located in SoCal. We're always looking for a good reason to get together. Test driving a pantograph sounds like as good a reason as any.
