I've got a friend who's company cuts and forms stainless steel sheeting into many different products sold internationally. They just invested in a new Mitsubishi Plasma Cutter/Laser Combo with self loader. I got a tour of their brand new machine early yesterday morning when dropping off some promotional products. I wish had thought to bring my camera. :-(

They run the machine unattended all night and/or all weekend. If it runs out of material to cut or mark, it actually dials a series of phone numbers that are programmed into the system for notification.

It's amazing what $750,000 will buy.

David,
I was at the shop that makes some Stainless parts for us yesterday, they have a Mitsubishi as well with the loader that was a hair over a million !! They are AWESOME, cuts 40 1" dia. holes in 1/2" steel in 1 minute with NO burr.

Mick,

I think eliminating the deburring labor helps to justify the investment. There is no easy way to do that other than by hand. I still saw quite a few manual deburrers working on components that were created by other equipment.
