Jer - a picture is worth a thousand words. Can you give us a photo of this
problem. I do quite a bit of stainless steel myself and cannot say I have seen what your describing.

I do not know if Xenetech has this feature, but ULS does, so I will mention it.
When engraving black brass, some script fonts have very thin descenders, which will not engrave through the top coat. Also some erratic edges to Helvetica, rare but there. ULS has a 'Clipart' selection in their driver which seems to fix all of those problems.
If it is a repeatable problem with certain letters, you might give this a try. Instead of the size font you are using for the offending text, go up 0.1 points in size. It will change the rasterization of that font and might get the line to cross the border to the next bit when rastered. Stinky way to do it, but it might work.
