The settings will be very different for granite and marble. Your title mentions marble but you ask about granite.

I have a 30 watt, 80ips machine so adjust your settings accordingly.

I use 40S, 40P for granite and 40S, 100P for marble.

Thanks for the correction Gary.

Do I need to use any type of ink or paint to get a clear image on granite? or just the right setting will do?

I color fill with silver rub-n-buff on granite to cover up some of the flecks of color. I use a micro-fiber cloth with a little bit of paint thinner so I don't get a very thick coating, more of a film over the granite. I follow that with a flat block covered with a paper towel to remove the excess from around the edges. The difference is pretty amazing between fill and no fill.
