Just be patient --- We are STILL partying, learning, meeting new people, seeing old friends, etc., etc..

I think we may have to wait for them to get home, sleep, sober up, and then figure out if their cameras actually recorded any of the festivities.

I'm sure some of the pictures will need a signed disclaimer. :D

I, too, am anxious to hear how the ARA show is. I feel so bad not being there this year!

Dave:
As the windchill drops below zero--I think of the folks in Vegas as well. On a different note--your comment on disclaimer reminded me of something. I have the computer up and running, software installed and am having a fairly easy time with Draw, Paint and rekindeling Photoshop tricks and PhotoGrav. Don't have my machine yet--I'm sure the folks are at the show. It's scary too, I already have orders and have not even tried my hand at this! My question is this, when I was with the imaging industry, anytime we were going to duplicate original photography, etc., we would have to have a signed form from the photographer releasing copyright. Is there a form available here, do you or does anyone have some standard verbage that I might avoid an attorney's fee?
Thanks,
Mike

As of 9:15am Vegas time, we're still here.....but OH SO READY to be home! Getting away for a few days is generally good, but we miss our 13-year-old daughter terribly! We'll be flying back to Dallas at 3:30 this afternoon - only because we couldn't find an earlier flight!

Generally speaking, the show was good this year. We seemed to notice a steep decline in the number of visitors this year compared to the last couple of years. It also seemed that there were fewer exhibitors. We were able to walk the whole floor (the first time) in just a few hours.

I'm hoping that Janna will be ready to go back for one last look today before we leave. If for no other reason, I'd just like to see some of the EE folks once more before next year! We won't have much time to look or chat, but it would be great anyway.

To those of you who called Chuck's cell phone during the Beach Party: THANK YOU!! It was a great touch, and it almost made us feel like you were there in person.

Speaking of the famed Party...Chuck and Tom did an absolutely FANTASTIC job putting it together - THANKS GUYS! And thanks to our resident "Domestic Engineer" for being the official photographer....GREAT JOB!!!

We'll be praying for everyone's safe return home from Vegas.

It was a pleasure to call in and actually, sort of, be there with everyone.

Just one point... I guess nobody told Chuck Harvey used to be a sound engineer.... :-$

Can't wait to see the pictures and hear the stories (that don't stay in vegas 8-O )

Maybe next year a web cam can be set up... more entertaining than American Idol I presume.... (devil)

New update.....

We thought we'd be smart and get to the airport early to get an earlier flight to Dallas. HA!

When we got here, we discovered that all flights to Dallas have been cancelled due to high winds. :'-(

Our original flight was scheduled for 5:05pm, and last night we changed it to 3:30pm. We were hoping to get in on standby to go home earlier.

Oh well....looks like we may be staying here another night.

First pictures done with my NEW camera which I won at the Beach Party which was donated by Cermark.

Taken at Hacienda Margarita Friday night
Becky, Chuck & Chuck's wife Lisa.

Anna Varga, Becky, Chuck & Lisa on the left. David L., Toni & Joe Hayes,
and Dee on the right.

The show is over and the suppliers are packing up, but, Chuck, Lisa, David & Harvey don't want to leave!

Kris & Garry Knapp from AAA Awards & Embroidery

Becky took a bunch of pictures so I'm sure there are more to come.

I see that Chuck, Lisa, Dave and Harvey are up on the classic trick of negotiating a good deal on heavy equipment at the very end of a trade show. Who ended up getting a great deal on a new Accucutter shear? ;-)

David,

Very astute.

That look of concern wasn't over the Accu Cutter booth; actually we had just finished running a Vision rep through a barrage of tough questions and demos on a very versatile engraving machine.

I have to say, I was impressed.

Chuck wrangled a concession to hold the show special for four days, while he decides if it's something he wants to add to his arsenal.

My best guess? He will. :-)

There will be a lot to say about the Vegas show.

I just need a while to regroup and organize my many thoughts and observations.

As to the size of the show; even though some say it's shrinking, in all the time I was there, I didn't see everything.

It's still the widest selection of engraving equipment and supplies etc., (for the A&E industry) that you'll ever find in the United States.

I would be remiss, if I didn't take a moment to thank the many industry suppliers and forum members, who so graciously and generously provided door prizes for our 2nd Annual Beach Party.

Thank you; thank you so much!

I'll tell you one thing. If next year's party gets any bigger and better (it will) that will be theee reason to come to Las Vegas. :-)

Dee,

From the looks of those plates in front of you, (and some of the other people), they can be put back on the shelf for the next customers. :-)

Becky,

It's always my main reason to come to Las Vegas. I was just saying it would become even more of a reason for others. :-)

Maybe. I'm leaning that way for now, but I had a message on my cell phone when I landed just now, so I have to return that call before making a decision.
