Full Version: .pub (Microsoft Publisher) file

Does anyone have the ability to open a .pub that would do so and send me it in a format I can use? I downloaded a Microsoft Publisher from the MS website but it will not let me do much but look at it or print it. I can't export or save as a pdf (options are grayed out). The file is too big to attach here but I can send via email.

Thanks,

If you remember to delete the attachment after you receive your help, you can put a pretty good sized file on the forum. (New rule.)

We are here to help the members and if deleted later, there will be no overload of storage.

Go for it.

Here it is. If anyone can convert to a pdf or eps it would be great.
I will delete the file later this week even if I don't get any help.

Thanks,

148K? I was thinking in the Megabytes.

Thanks for being so stringent in trying to observe the limits. But we do need to be flexible here so forum business can go on unimpeded.

I figured that 3 times the max was too much. If no one can help I did zoom in in print preview until the image filled the screen and did alt-prt scrn then pasted into corel. When I adjust the size and resample it it is passable but passable is not what I want to be known for.

Thanks,

Are you just after the document in the center, or also the various other pictures placed on the work board, but not on the page?

Here is a PDF of the page. See if you can use it. If you need the rest of the images I could move them onto additional pages and export that.

Dave,

This is perfect. Just what I need. Thank you so much for helping.

Now I had better go delete the original. (Hope I can figure out how.)

Thanks again,

P.S. Wasn't too hard to delete. Just had to click Edit, Attachment and Del then close and apply.

Glad to help.

By the way, I didn't even know I had Publisher. I bought MS Office 2003 a couple of years ago to use Word, Access and Excel. After trying to open the .pub in Word and then InDesign, and failing, I went on the web and searched on:

"microsoft Publisher" import

What I got was a page that showed all the versions of Publisher, which included Office 2003. After I slapped myself on the head, I ran it, opened the file, and exported the PDF.

I have Office 97. :S They don't even support it any longer. I hate to buy new software when the old stuff is working but it would be nice to have Publisher.

Thanks again,

On the subject of publisher, I have a client that sent me a file in publisher. I tried opening it and saving it as a wmf but when I open it in corel it comes out completely white....any ideas?

In the meantime, could I ask someone to convert it for me to something usable?

Thanks
