I'm looking for a good discussion on glass versus crystal in terms of how they engrave and their qualities and properties. I found that EJ has one in March 2006 issue, but I need this by end of Tuesday to write an article due Thursday. Anyone able to help??

I take it your referring to laser engraving, which isn't recommened for lead crystal.

I have tried leaded crystal using all of the tricks mentioned, (small areas), and never could produce a result that I found acceptable.
Cheap glass works wonderfully, except just below my standards for photos.
People here have said that they get good results on non-leaded optical crystal. I have never had the opportunity to try that.
