Full Version: Receptacle plates

I have an opportunity with a company looking for a red standard 2 plug receptacble which must engrave white. I have googled and googled and have not been able to find an engravable plate. The engraving must be white not an anodized plate that would be off-white. By the way, these must be laser engravable.

Does anyone know where I might find these or have another idea to satisfy their requirements.

Hi Deeb,

I 've done this type of plates in past for an
local Electrical Distributor. The plates were
supplied by client and those were made of nylon.
I did them with rotary and paint filled.
Did not try with laser but it should be safe (check MSDS).
I belive that you can get them at Home Depot (electrical section),
or check with local electrical distributors.

Deeb, I've laser engraved the single switch plate "RED" nylon. I purchase them from a local electrical supply store for about .35 each by the case load. I have an epilog 40 watt unit set at 10% speed 30% power. First I put paper lasertape on the plate, etch, then spray paint with rust-oleum, let dry then peel off lasertape.

Thanks for sharing this. I will check with the local electrical supplier. I have never heard of switch plates made of nylon.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I have engraved light switch covers and color filled. The plates were just off the shelf from Home Depot.
