Full Version: Chroma-Crystal Questions

Greg,

As a person who owns a Chroma-Crystal system, I thought you'd be the likely person to tap for a real world opinion and answers to some questions. :-)

Is there any magic in the crystal itself, or can (flat) off-the-shelf crystal or glass objects be decorated with the system?

Since the print media used in the process is a transparency, does the resulting image have sufficient opacity, or does that depend on the image itself?

Of the consumables, which do you use the most?

The crystal-to-crystal glue sounds simply like UV glue, that could be obtained through sources, other than QLT.

Do you think that would hold true for the film-to-crystal glue?

Sorry to hammer you with so many questions. As a photographer, my wife thinks she may be able to use such a system, to compliment some of her work.

Thank you,

David,

I would be interested in the answers to these questions. Did Grep PM you the answers or has he just not been able to respond, yet?

Thanks!

Jim

Jim,

Greg hasn't read my post yet and I haven't heard anything privately.

David,

Let me tell you the little I know,

there is no magic in the crystal, any flat crystal or glass will work,

I think there is e difference in between the glue for crystal and film,

For crystal to crystal you could buy it any where, is just a simple crystal to crystal uv glue, I'm not sure what kind of uv glue for the film they use,

but I did it with a regular photo on a 2.5x3.5x1/4 glass and I used
glaze from my Excel system and it works great, so I figure that if I use a
film like them it will give the same effect, to trim the edges you just cut them with exact-o or any blade following the edges around the item
