I need the original file that you used in Corel to send out the image. (I hope it is in Corel, I am not familiar with other programs.)
I can alter the image in that file and send the file back to you.

The file is right above the dog tag attachment.
Thanks

Hi Barb
I believe that you have a Laserpro, I have a Pinnicle Mercury and this is what I found on the Signwarehouse site.
Why does my laser engraver engrave lines on images even though they are not visible in the software?
SolutionThis is usually caused by improperly cropping and image or the brightness and contrast of the image are slightly too dark. Try cropping as close to the image as possible, and if needed brighten your image 1 or 2 times.
Maybe??

I did try and crop it, I also tried erasing it. It didn't happen to me when I engraved it larger, it happened when I downsized it to a dog tag size.
I also added a border around it, and thought it might have been that, but I don't know why it would be. This is a mystery to me.

I don't see anything in the original image that would cause that line. It must have happened during or after conversion in Photograv.
When you say you downsized it, did you do that after Photograv? You should never scale the output of Photograv. If you want a smaller image you need to scale the grayscale image first and send that to Photograv. Then use the result from Photograv at it's full size.

No, I downsized it in X3 and then sent it to photograv.
I think this is just a fluke.
Thanks anyway,
Barbara

The image obfuscated the line with the file. I will look at it this afternoon. Sorry.

The width divided by 2 but not by four, so I resampled it to be two pixels less in width, that made it divisible by four. I then made the width .003" smaller in Draw, the equivalent of one pixel.
It should now work being sent to the laser.

I will let you know how it works.
Thank you,

I still got the line in it. I give up. I scrapped the bride and put a photo of a dog instead.
It worked fine.
Thanks for trying.

Now I have no idea of what it could be. Those two tricks always solved it for me when it happened.
The only possibility left is to make the picture a little larger and powerclip it into the right size box. That takes the edge of the picture out of the printout. Corel will clip/mask to the box and not put out that part of the photo. Be sure to make the outline of the powerclip box white or the outline will engrave.

The dog photo came out very nice, so I know it's the picture, I just didn't know why it got a line all of a sudden. I used it for other engravings and it worked fine.
Thanks again Harvey,
Barb
