The only whistle place I know of is American Whistle. I know they have silver whistles, but am not sure what levels of silver they have.
Contact them at 1-800-876-2918

Thinking outside the box here, but could you take one of their brass whistles and have it silverplated? Don't know if that would fix your dilemma. The only other suggestion I have is to contact perhaps RSOwens and see if perhaps they have had a request for one and what they did to meet that request. They do some very high end coaching type awards, so perhaps they would have a source and would share? Or call Steve Capper, or Sam Varn and see if they have had a similar request and where they found one?
This is going to take some work on your part to "create" a whistle to meet the client request. Are they willing to pay for this whistle, or will this end up being a futile search? Does the client really mean they want sterling or platinum, or do they mean silver colored, where the nickel plated would do? I know that sounds so obvious, but I've been caught in that place before and have tried to create the impossible, only to find out the client used words that they didn't really mean literally. Kind of like when a client asks for a plaque, but really means just the engraved plate when you get down to the real thing.
Good luck on your quest!

I don't think the cost of an off-the-shelf sterling or platinum whistle would be an issue given the perceived value of that much silver or platinum. Custom-making or having one plated - which I thought about but decided against pursuing - would be an issue. They wanted me to see what I could find and will probably settle for American Whistle's silver one - which I am guessing is nickel.
This is a pretty well-off internet company whose names starts with a Y and ends with an exclamation point. If I could find one that I can get right away I bet I could have sold it no problem.
Thanks for the info but if this group can't find it - no one can.

Well, if they can't find it they could always check on Google:)
Great client to have contacted you and I understand you wanting to get them what they want. The silver whistle through American Whistle is nickel from what their catalog says.
Good luck in finding a match for their request.

I did a Google search on "platinum whistle" and all that showed up were a lot of stories with people fantasizing about having a platinum whistle. Nobody actually selling them or even saying they've seen one.
If the silver charm isn't large enough you may be stuck with calling a custom jewelry maker.

I just ran across a SS whistle in Creative Gifts (www.creativegiftsdirect.com). Doesn't say if SS refers to stainless steel or sterling silver. Item #02846. They also list a GP style, which I am assuming is Gold Plated.
This is probably too late for your client, but thought I would send you this info anyway for future reference.
