If anodized aluminum is not the "right" color, it may be alodined (alodine is typically "gold" color) aluminum. Any aircraft parts finishing shop should be able to do alodine.

Rick,

I second the suggestion to contact Frank Ricci at Chewbarka. Their "new" formulation provides a clean, white image when lasered and if one of their brass color variations fits, it should be a no-brainer for your customer.

I second Steve's recommendation to see if they will go with Chewbarka gold anodize.

His stuff does laser white. I saw the Clear anodize product he offers and was amazed. It barely looks anodized, fairly shiny. It does also engrave white. It looks like it was painted at 600 DPI.

You can also push that anodize is a very hard coating and will also last longer.
