Good morning to all. I plugged in my rotary attachment last night on my epilog 32ex and it does not recognige that it is there. The head never positions itself over the rotary. Any ideas from someone who may have experienced this in the past. :-(

On my ULS I have to plug in the rotary before turning the power to the laser on. I forgot once and it does not see it except on boot.

Hoping that this might help.

That's not the case with my ULS VL200. I sometimes swap tables multiple times per day without turning the laser off and on.

The only problem I have is that the laser doesn't always run the job immediately after a table change. I start the job and it never starts. If I wait several minutes, it may start, but the auto focus won't kick in. The ULS VL200 autofocus works by encoder value based on the table that is installed and the part thickness that is keyed in.

It's infrequent and I haven't been able to determine why the problem is occurring. I have had more success if I reset the z-axis before removing the table and putting the other one in.

Deeb, I'm with Harvey on this. Make sure the laser is off before plugging in the rotary attachment (making sure you get a positive "click" when plugging it in,) and don't send the job until the machine has fully booted. I have to do this for our 24EX, but I'm guessing it's the same with the 32Ex too.

Deeb,

I had that problem when I first got mine, it worked for a while then stopped completely. It turned out it was a bad motor on the rotory. Lucky for me it was under warrenty.

I didn't have time to log back on yesterday and let everyone know that I had found the problem. Another sympton I didn't mention that it was taking a long time to boot. As it turns out the small magnet on the bar that tells it, it is at the home location, had fallen out. Glued it back in place, it boots quickly and everything is working well. Thanks to everyone who took time to reply!

Have a great day!
