Full Version: perpetual plaque question

Hi Guys
I just got an order for a 40 plate perpetual plaque. The customer wants the usual inscription at the top and also wants 28 of the plates with names. The price in the airflyte catalogue is 150.00. What does that usually include. Is each plate charged a set price and if so what is normal price for that.
Thanks guys.
Tony

Tony,

From what I've seen others say about perpetuals here, I'd say that would likely include the title plate, plus one "list" plate.

If the customer could supply me with a "soft" list of names to engrave, I'd be inclined to charge much less for the other 27 than if I had to type each one in myself.

In the end, only you know what $$$ you have to make.

Most dealers that I know of, include lettering on the title plate in the cost of the plaque. Some charge an additional price if there is to be a logo engraved on the title plate. As for the individual plates we have an added charge per plate.

Sincerely
Tony

The price in the Airflyte catalog is suggested retail, as you are probably aware. It assumes NO engraving at that price. Beyond that, it's a matter of what you believe the product and your labor, etc. to be worth.

As an example, we sell a lot of the genuine walnut 24-plate perpetual plaques that we get from DTC/Marco. We price these at $150. However, OUR price for that plaque includes the Header plate (without logo) AND the first plate. In effect, we build this into the price. For future plates, we charge $7.50 each. As for logos, we charge an additional amount for all that a logo might entail. Generally, our logo charge is an additional $15. It depends on the relationship, potential for additional business, etc.

Hope this helps.
