I have a question about a program called puzzle maker from www.oberonplace.com. Tried the program and when it went to cut it with the laser it cut each piece about 4 times. When I say it cut it 4 times when it cuts one piece and goes to the next piece it cuts over where it was already cut. When you put the puzzle together it is real loose from all of the over cutting. Has anyone on here ever used it and did it do the same thing. Thanks John

Sounds like the program is based on CAD software. We cut boat models for a manufacturer who uses AutoCAD, and a new model is always a time drag. The program lays down multiple lines along straight sections which have to be removed before cutting. Simply ungroup the drawing and select a section, delete until the entire line is missing and then do a single undo. That will leave one remaining line. Move on to the next line and repeat.

Unfortunately, you can't do this globally because not all sections will have the same number of multiple lines (or multiple lines at all.) It's time consuming, so remember to save your work after you have a single vector for each section. If you miss any sections, it will show up when you laser the piece....so make a mental note where you need to return for another delete.

I've never tried puzzle maker, but since that site is heavilly into macros for Corel, you might want to post on their forum asking if either there is a way to modify puzzle maker so it leaves only a single line per cut, or if anybody can write a macro that removes the duplicate lines automatically. There may even already be such a macro over there.

John,

Do you have specific needs for different shapes for the puzzle? Or can a "one size fits all " model work. If so, Harvey has a template.
