Full Version: Color fill

What do you use for color fill on glass? and do you use a paintbrush or electric brush of some sort?

I have done wine bottles and spray painted them, but I am doing a 50th anniversary gift and wanted to color fill some of the type and wasn't sure about correct paint to use and method of painting. I would hate to do it and peel it and pull out the paint!

Looking for suggestions!

Also, I saw an electric paint tool at Vegas several years back but haven't seen it since. Anyone know of one that cleans well and would be good for doing some creative work?

Lisa, if you are not getting too colorful or artsy, we have been using rub and buff with good success on glass. We have even run the glass coffee cups through the dishwasher with no damage.

If you want to be able to do multiple colors, I would suggest you consider an air brush, very controllable spray process.

There is a thread on the Cutting Edge forum about paint on glass, you can get there from Links of Interest above.

Thanks Doug! I think Rub N Buff will work on this piece, but I do want to look into some type of airbrush for more artsy projects (my favorite thing!)

Don't know why I didn't think of Rub N Buff. This is a piece that will sit on a coffee table so it won't be washed. Perfect!
