OUtsourcing I am looking right now for is sublimination on some plaques that are 3 1/2" x 11 1/4" in a silver and bronze color, with cut out corners and a hole in each corner for a temporary display for an event held here each year, these are the sponsor plaques and it changes each year, so they don't pay the extra to have them engraved.

Tricia,

We have engravers in your area, who may be interested in becoming a behind-the-scenes provider of engraving, until you decide if bringing the technology in-house is desireable.

Although I'm 3,000 miles away, if you'd like me to become such a source of engraving, I'm up for the task.

Don't forget color graphics as a viable means of marking. I'm a sublimation enthusiast from way back and provide plates for a number of award and picture framing shops.

Although I've branched out, my primary business model has been that of a behind-the-scenes artisan (secret weapon, if you will) for many of SoCal's engraving and awards outlets.

That's as much of a sales pitch as you'll get from me. Probably makes more sense to work locally, but I'm here if you need me. :-)

I guess I will see all than information when I receive my first journal, but thought just came in my mind to ask here.

The "BIG SHOW" was about a month ago in Las Vegas..

There are also numerous regional shows around the country... smaller but you usually get more time to talk to the vendors.

If you can make it out to LV next year, you will meet up with many members of the group at the Beach Party held by EE.

For a bit of encouragment to make the show, do a search for "Beach Party" and you will find photos of the past two parties and get to "meet" a number of members...

Warning! There is a photo of "someone" who thinks HE is a hula dancer and a few of the members are folically challenged... 8-O

Tricia,

I'm not sure the NC area engravers are seeing your messages, or if they're choosing not to respond. There's one, in particular, who I think may be able to help you.

I'll send an email, to see if they're among the coalition of the willing. :-)

Thanks David,
I had one response from Charlotte however he does not do sublimination, although I need engraving also. I had another response but it was from the west coast also. You guys are up early on here, it is lunch time in NC and I need to get off here and get some work done.
Will check back later over the Easter weekend, gotta miniature horse show tomorrow, so I will be closed.

David,
Since I did not get an email from you , I did not know if you were interested in doing that sublimination order, as I did have another offer.
Let me know at Art2impress@aol.com one way or the other.
I read an article you wrote on a googled website when I was doing research, you are the guru of sublimination aren't you!?!?LOL
Look forward to hearing from you.

Ooops! Sorry. I thought I was throwing my virtual hat into the ring, by making myself available, as a source, in a previous post.

Sublimation guru? Well..er...ahh...umm...yea...kinda. :-$

I call myself a sublimation enthusiast and would be happy to do the work.

I'll send an email to you, to make it official. :-)

Hi Tricia. We'll probably make it to the Charlotte show again this year. It's an ok show but nowhere near the size or scope of a larger industry show. In years past there has been more apparel and signage than engraving, but Plastics Plus will be there, as well as JDS. I think Marco was there last time too.

Thanks for the heads-up David! I have been checking the forum regularly but somehow missed these posts. I have emailed Tricia and would be happy to help. Kernersville is about an hour from me -- in fact my brother lived there for a year -- but not much competition for me -- I don't do much out that way so maybe I can help.

Hey Lisa,
I have signed us up for the Charlotte show, as we do wide format printing for the art industry with our framing and my art. I am a portrait artist and have been doing some giclee printing for other artists in the area.
I have sent you a personal email.
Talk to you soon,
Tricia Linville

Tricia,

Lisa's the NC engraver I alluded to earlier.

You'd be in good hands, should you decide to use her as your secret weapon. :-)
