OK gang,

It's time to turn our attention toward the ARA International Awards Market 2005, which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada from Wed. March 2nd, through Sat. March 5th.

You can find LV Hilton hotel reservation info (and more) at www.ara.org

For those of you new to the forum, as tradition has it, some of the Engraving Etc. and DSSI forum members make a point of getting together, during the course of the show, for the golden opportunity to meet each other face-to-face and to engage in some serious shop talk. (Not that what we do here isn't serious :-)

Think you know what a person looks like from their printed words? Guess again. It's a riot, when you actually meet the people. Trust me :-)

Anyhow, in continuance of the time-honored tradition, I'll launch an unofficial accounting of the people you may meet at the show. Naturally, my name will be at the top of the list :-)

I don't post much on the forum, but read it everyday. I find very
valuable informaiton here. My laser is on order and will be here

If this is your first laser, great times are ahead for you.

I'm always curious what route people decide to go in their selection of equipment. Are you planning to use the laser for rubber stamps as your name implies?

If I were a betting man, I would predict that you went with Epilog. Being located in Corpus Christi, Texas is a dead giveaway, but I could be wrong.

Dad & I will be in Vegas. Randy Allen (our other salesman) and his lovely wife, Marci, will be there too.

Hopefully, the schedule will allow us to meet up with the EE gang after show hours.

Hi,
Yes I did go with the Epilog. I probably went more with Roy Brewer than I did anything else. Roy knows his products and I know Roy. The knowledge he shares is priceless. I feel that if I need a little extra help I can call Brewer Sales and get it.
Actually, I have no plans to make rubber stamps with the laser. We use photopolymer to make our stamps. We use a vertical camera and negative, created with typesetting from a laser printer, very high quality. I am going to incorporated the laser into our engraving department. I have 3 computer engravers and hope that this laser will create some new adventures and speed thing up a bit. I ordered the rotary attachment and look for to doing some glassware and wine bottles.
Very exciting times ahead.

I hope you and the Brewer Sales crew can find time to meet up with the other forum members. There's really no protocol. Some people pass through, some hang around longer. Afterall, it's an exciting town, with a lot to do.

The EE get-together just happens to be one of the main attractions :-)
