I am looking to order wooden picture frames. Does anyone have a favorite company they order from? I was looking at GWI frames. Does anyone know anything about them?

I don't.

We have two types of frames:

1) Nice alder frames - we get these from JDS.

2) Cheap frames - these are usually painted, and we get them from the Dollar Store (or similar discount store).

We get Alder frames from JDS and Laserbits. The JDS frames come in flat or rounded corners and also come indivdually boxed, the Laserbits frames have a larger engraving area but do not come individually boxed.

Looking through the new Discount Trophy catalog I see that they are now stocking wooden frames. Page 51 of their catalog.

I have tried a frame from GWI and it lasered very nice. No color fill or anything. I'm thinking of ordering some from there...they are less expensive than JDS or DTC and come individually boxed.

Mike,

What does GWI stand for? Do they have a web site?

Thanks,

Say hello to my little friend, Google B-)

Using their phone number/address I found that name as well as a couple of other domains they own:

Even though I am new, you all have given me a lot of great advice....my turn. I am a custom frame shop and found for ready made frames a great little supplier. Frame Decor, a division of Angel Gifts, out of Fairfield, IA. You can email them at : info@artetc.com but your response may come back from a name@angelgraphics so check your spam mailbox...LOL
They have wood and plastic frames, and some of the wooden ones have a good flat surface area for engraving. They actually do some lazer on their products also. They will send you an assembled frame with glass and easel back at a very reasonable price.
Phone is 1-800-354-8362 for a catalog.
Hope this helps you out.

Thank you Tricia.

A little inside information never hurts. :-)

Actually, I've used framing supply houses for years, in creating awards that aren't found in our industry's catalogs.
