Full Version: Power Clip and bitmaps

Hummm..interesting. I have been powerclipping my Photograv bitmaps for my plaques and I don't see any difference in the way they process, they look fine to me. I do this as a method of insuring I am rid of that white box.

I occasionally think that my dog tags look non corrected color wise. But other times look good.

Now you have given me a good reason to look farther, knowing that there can be a problem. What version, or does it not matter, of Corel treats it as a curve? I think I remember seeing something that allows me the ability to choose how each item is corrected. If I set the curve to be treated in perceptual that should also do it.

I probably can do it for a dog tag just by putting the picture behind the outline rather than power clipping it into the outline.

See the tag line.

That is a good question Harvey. I don't know. I need to call sawgrass today anyway with a color profile question, then get back to Matt. I'll ask him.

I have not tried it yet, but I believe that the color can be adjusted using the "vector" slider of the Powerdriver IQ when an image has been powerclipped.....I'll try that today and report back.

I just tried a page of four photographs plain and powerclipped side by side in Corel 9 and X3.

(Using a Konica/Minolta color laser printer, no inkjet at this location.)

Photos=Perceptual
Graphics=Saturation
Text=Saturation

The photos came out exactly alike so the info was wrong as far as my particular setup.

Harvey,

I believe Chuck's talking about running photos through the Sawgrass PowerDriver.

If it is the PowerDriver that is doing it then it is a bug there that is not in the Konica/Minolta driver.

This weekend I will have to try it on my sublimation printer using the Epson and the Laser Repro color correction.

Harvey,

I think you are exactly right. I don't think Corel treats as vector, I think the Sawgrass driver improperly treats as vector.

That is interesting Roy.....I will check with sawgrass when I talk to them..and with Matt......possibly they mis-spoke.......
