That answer raises the idea of using RTV Silicone for mounting.

That will work for lightweight items, but heavier objects tend to work their way loose.

It does certainly depend on the alloy composition, etc., but I've been successful doing this with many different metals.

I've done a bit of that as well but I have a feeling that the tool steel will be formidable.

If you can do it it is the best option, minus the adhesive. A material called Loctite put on the threads will suffice.

I would also be concerned about time and overall job cost.
