A while ago, I was having trouble opening a file in Corel. All I would get was a 72dpi image. David T gave me a name (Peter Bertrand) and web site http://home.wi.rr.com/bertrandart/vector_art.html

I emailed him the 72 dpi bitmap and overnight I got a great vector logo all for the price of $9.00.

I recommend him highly!

I also have used him for logo conversions.
He is good. Not to mention very reasonably priced.

You beat me to the punch on creating that link. Great idea!

I also wanted to let everyone know we recently used Peter for an extremely complex job. He provided us a very reasonable quote for this unique job and it turned out perfect.

Peter's over-the-top service provided us the finished art within four hours of our order. We didn't even ask for same-day service.

I'm happy to see my co-moderators hard at work :-)

One aspect of this forum, which I really like, is the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the very viable people/companies, that otherwise may be unknown to the industry.

Peter is just one of many. I'll add some more to our "Links" in the near future.

I'm really busy today and time is of the essence, so I appeal to all of you - Stop making this forum so damned interesting to read!!

C'mon, please!! :-)

Actually, because time is so tight, yesterday, I took advantage of Pete's bitmap to vector conversion service. I asked a customer to send their logo by email, and received a bitmap image. They said that's all they had.

I contacted Pete and whamm!! (the sound of the vector art hitting my email:-) there was the conversion.

At $9.00, I don't know how he does it, but I can tell you this - It's not the last time I'll use his service.

I just wanted to add my 2 cents on the subject of Pete Bertrand's service. Since first becoming aware of his service I have used him on 6 projects. His work and service are the best I have ever had the opportunity of using. Yesterday he even called me because I had not responed back to an email. He wanted to make sure I got what I had asked for - I had left the office early yesterday morning and did not wait for the art he was working on for me. Before I could check the email later in the day - he called wanting to make sure I got it OK for my project - Now that is Service. I cannot say enough good about his service and quality work. I have sent him some real nasty looking jpgs and ended up with quality files that I could engrave or cut into vinyl signs. His work is excellent and his pricing has made it possible for me to get onto things I do well and leave the vectorizing of nasty artwork/logos up to him. He is at least 5 STAR in my book. Joe

Sounds like we're talking about the same guy :-)

The other aspect I like about Pete's service, is for that whopping $9.00 conversion charge, he sends the file in just about every format imaginable.

Unbelievable? I guess we should start believing :-)

I couldn't agree more. Pete has done a few items for me -- he's quick, economical, and high quality (in all dimensions). Just finding him has made this forum worth it's weight in gold (David, that does not mean you get to charge "gold" prices when the forum goes to a pay model :-).

If there is ever a page of fame, I certainly would throw my vote to having Pete on it.

I don't know about the Gold prices, but believe me, we're constantly observing and adding up the gold stars, when it comes to recognizing the companies and members who will continue to make the site well worth whatever the price of admission.

I usually do my own logos and also for a friend. I just found out that Design Cad/Summasketch on the serial port will not work with WinXP. (Downloaded some drivers, but no connection.)

I sent my friends bad copy of a family shield to Peter. Absolutely fantastic results. It would have taken about an hour with Design Cad to recreate it, and not as well as he did it. Well worth the $9.

I highly recommend his service.

Like I have said before Pete is the MAN!! I use his service quite often now
and it makes me money - I have more time to do the things I do best
and he does what I do not like to do - I just tell the customer I am going
to be chargeing for my professional artist to recreate there logo in an
acceptable manner. Never a question.

Pete really is saving our time, which is saving our money.

A perfect example of sharing the wealth, by allowing others to perform their expertise for our benefit.

Two-way streets are the only thruways I like to travel :-)
