We have stayed at Arizona Charlie's East and found it to be fine. We have just booked in Arizona Charlie's West.
They are both about six miles from the convention center and still have rooms left.
The rates for two people are:
Sun-Thurs $33.00
Fri-Sat $73.00
Their restaurants are good and so are their other services.

Harvey,
Do you have a phone number for the hotel? The price sounds right.
I haven't booked a room yet. Thought I may get one at Arizona Charlie's, so we can have breakfast together, before going to the show.
Assuming, of course, that you would want to have breakfast with me :-)

Here is a link to the AC East. They can book for the West also, which is where I will be.

David,
I made the reservations through tripreservations.com. You can get the price and book on line or you can get a price quote and then call tripreservations and book over the phone. Their # is on their home page. I book over the phone so there are no misunderstandings. I then wait 2 days and call the hotel on their 800# and reconfirm.

Thank you Dee & Harvey. I'll line up a room where you're staying.
Harvey mentioned the restaurant is pretty good. Is it the usual buffet fare, or something a bit better?
Not that it matters, I'm just a little hungry :-)

I can only speak about their east location not the west as we have never stayed there before. East has a typical buffet, nothing fancy, only open at certain hours, and a 24 hour restaurant with a limited menu and reasonable prices. It is similar to an IHOP. There is also the required casino. The hotels are owned by the same company that owns the Stratosphere so I'm assuming that west meets eat in quality. We were turned on to this place buy a friend's parents who lived in Vegas for many years and always put out of town family members up there. We have a rental car so we won't be confined.
I would make reservations via tripreservations because when I looked at the hotel's own web site it showed they were booked. When I called the hotel they said they had rooms available through reservation services so that's what I did.

JIm Williams turned me on to the Gold Coast Mastercard special - $25.00 per night! They just remodeled all the rooms last year too. Take the shuttle to the Barbary Coast, walk to Bally's and take the monorail directly to the convention center.
The Gold Coast is a bit off the strip, but everyone says the food is great there.

A friend of mine is going to LV on a pleasure trip on the 17th of Feb.
Someone had a link to the best discount books and I didn't copy it down since I can't make the trip this year.
Any suggestions for the discount books is appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I've had a membership at www.lasvegasadvisor.com for a few years now. It not only provides great discounts (I'm staying at the Hilton for $49) but the tips and tricks from the newsletter have come in handy.
There are a number of coupons for 2 for 1 buffets (including the Hilton.)
The online membership is $37 and includes the coupon book.

John,
There's no such thing as a crowd. There's only one hitch. I'll be staying at Arizona Charlie's West, along with Harvey and Dee.
I'll be checking in on the 2nd.
As the date draws near, we can PM our cell phone numbers.
Very much looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the "flying-fingers" of the forum. :-)

We should all take notes and compare via the forum. Maybe next year we can try to book a group rate all at the same place.

As it turns out, I am really at Arizona Charlie's EAST. I probably made the mistake as opposed to Wifey.
I made one the last lights out of Philly before they closed the airport. I got lucky.
