Hi David.

I just put a couple examples in my retail booth and am planning to launch a marketing blitz with photographers as soon as I can pull my materials together. I'm still playing with the paints, I'm not much of a painter but this method seems to be very forgiving, thankfully! I'm finding different colors work differently than with digital colorization on photos. For example, the photo this particular photographer sent was with a red rose. I did another sample with the same engraving and painted the rose pink. I think the pink pops out a bit more than the red on the marble. However, I still need to apply a glossy sealant which helps to bring the colors out a little more.

I'm having so much fun! :)

Hi David.

I saw that post too and my jaw dropped! I only hope I can get my pieces half as good as that one, it's simply amazing...absolutely stunning. Like I mentioned above, I'm no painter but I'm trying to learn about highlighting and shading, etc. It's a little more advanced than paint by numbers, but it's much easier than trying to paint a picture on a blank page!

I've seen a couple other places who've painted marbles, but very few in person. I was actually inspired by another forum member after looking at her site http://www.rgilengravers.homestead.com/Photo_Gallery.html. I thought she did a wonderful job so I ran out and got me some paints and new brushes!

I'm always looking to put a new spin on my products. Hopefully it will start to pay off soon!
