Full Version: ARA Show 2005 - Badge Template

Hi All ... here's my submission as an idea for a name badge... not looking for recognition amoungst all of you 'experts' out there... just an idea. I am going to make mine out of Romark #2-324. Provides a good contrast.

What do you think?

John,

Very nice, You might want to change the fonts to curves.
Dave

Hi Dave.. thanks .. yes, allready did for my own ... unfortunately with the Roland engraver I can't engrave directly off corel. :-( So, I left everything in the 'rough' form so everyone could just make suggestions/modifations directly if they chose to use the format.

Thanks

I wanted to do it for EE, (and mine for DSSI also). The enclosed file is for sublimation & laser. The magenta box/perimeter is laser cut, then the rest is sublimated.

Just an alternative idea.

It is saved in Corel Version 8 so most can open it.

John,

I wish I could see what you're all talking about. I'm a lowly Mac user and don't use Corel :-)

David,

That is a good point. We should also offer these ideas in a common Mac file format. I have a sister who sells for me in the Dallas and Phoenix areas and she is exclusively Mac. We have adapted to each other's needs, maybe we need to do the same thing here.

David,

A PDF is a universally "openable" file.

OK. Here it is in a .PDF format.

Edit: I do not know what happened to the outline for the first badge, but the letters extend over the top of the badge outline.

Hi David... thanks for the reminder on your file requirements. I have re-attached it as a mac pict file for your viewing pleasure!

John,

Very nice. Thanks for keeping us "Lefties" in mind :-)

I'll submit my badge layout, when I get it together. It's going to be what I call, "The Kitchen Sink." A sublimated piece of brass, which will look very much like laser engraving, through a background color, except the background will most likely be a gradient. Top it off with an epoxy dome and place it in a badge frame and look out! A very unique namebadge.

Is the EE logo the purple text Engraving Etc.?? If yes, could you post a .jpg file perhaps higher dpi than found here. Perhaps even ask Cherie to allow you to post a DSSI logo also. I think it would look best if we all were uniform in displaying the logos. What we do with them will show how creative we are :). Mine is top secret - lol - I just hope to find time to make one before now and then.!

Zona
Zona's Engraved Creations

can be any other format - just figured that would be one everybody could use.

John,
Now that I am moved, upacked and settled (hahahahha) I can do a badge for the show. I like the way yours looks and it is withing my still developing abilities, ( which is why I don't try the sublimation etc).
So.... THANKS or as we say in the island Tanks Eh?

David,
Your are scaring me.
BUT I still look forward to meeting you, even though you do use a Mac.
Is it pretty much set for Thursday at 6 at Quarks?
I've got a million and a half questions, and I am REALLY looking forward to the get together and the show.

Zona,

We don't have an official logo yet. Maybe this is a chance for the collective creativity of the forum members, to point us the direction of one.

We'll have to come up with some sort of prize for the "Best Namebadge."

Ultimately, I want the logo to be embroiderable, sublimatable etc., etc.

Edit: I believe the DSSI logo is downloadable from www.dyesub.org

If not, I'm sure if you email Cherie Derrick (DSSI Host/Moderator) she'd be pleased to pass it along to those attending the show.

David,

What is about using the "Engraving Etc." in purple that appears in the above left corner? It's slick, it' simple and recognizable.

Just another random thought from the mind of Chuck

Chuck
