I'm not an attorney, but you might want to talk to your local DA and get a free opinion from them. You (generic) DID elect them in most towns and cities.
Or maybe a lawyer friend (is there such a thing as a friendly lawyer? :S ) who will give you a quick opinion for a beer or two.
