Chuck got me thinking about this.
Mine is God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. (That's why I got it so quick Chuck)
My oldest son's is Silent Night and my youngest son's is Jingle Bells.

Stille Nacht!

"Silent Night In German"...Unfortunately it's about the only German I know for having a German heritage.....

1. Stille Nacht! Heil'ge Nacht!
Alles schlft; einsam wacht
Nur das traute hoch heilige Paar.
Holder Knab' im lockigen Haar,
Schlafe in himmlischer Ruh!

There is also a round version of Silent Night that incorperates a "Peace on earth" round/chorus over the whole verse....very touching on Christmas eve.

Thanks,

Brian Genrich

Darn I'm bad at guessing. I would have thought is was "Grandma got run over by a reindeer", or the german version I couldn't locate. My bad. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season.

Christmas Shoes is what I like to refer to as an audio car wreck....it comes on and you can't help but listen to it even though you know you should turn away (turn it off) This little poor kid goes in to buy his mother shoes so she can look beautiful to go meet Jesus.
Every year when it comes on, it's like the heavyweight prize fight championship throwdown match of the world to see if I can make it through without bawling my eyes out.....I never win.
And to make things worse, they actually made a movie out of this...some Hallmark Lifetime for Women Estrogen channel kind of sobfest movie...
I'm really trying not to be vague about my feelings for it. Am I succeeding? LOL
I think Christmas music ought to be either happy and cheerful like Holly Jolly Christmas or sacred like O Holy Night. None of this, mom's-dyin'-and-I -cant-afford-to-buy-her-Jesus-meetin'-shoes.
As Chuck would say, there's my two cents...want change LOL

Oh Becky!

That was soooooooooooooo entertaining, I think I'll give you my 2 cents to continue.................

I'm still ROTFLMAO............................... :'D

I agree, you do have to slow down to get a good look at the wreck whenever that song comes on, and isn't it sacrilegious to turn the channel when it comes on????? I mean, won't God (or your choice of deity) come down and smack you?????

It IS somehow sacriligious to turn the channel!! I am convinced it was written by the same guy that wrote "Butterfly Kisses" (which btw, only serves the purpose of reducing grown men to dribbly little messes on their daughter's wedding day). Butterfly Kisses I can actually tolerate. I don't know what purpose "Christmas Shoes" serves. All it does is piss me off. LOL
Glad you enjoyed the commentary!!
Becky
