I do quite a bit of woodwork and have turned them on my lathe. You can buy the parts and assemble them pretty cheaply - as long as you can turn them that is. If not, check with your local Woodcraft store and see if they have a woodturners club near you. I would bet you could find someone hungry enough to turn a bunch of them pretty cheaply. You could offer something unique instead of something mass produced. They might cost a bit more but they will have a much higher perceived value than the others.
