We are looking for a shield plate (flat across the top, Scalloped top corners and tapered to a point) approximately 9x11. I ordered the plaques in as 11.5x13.5, figuring I need the room for engraving and we have a sample plate on the wall that size. Its been so long neither of us can remember where it came from.
It's for a local fire department so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tropar has one that is 8½" x 10½ and another that is 10" x 12". Page 6 of their 2004/2005 parts catalog.

Unfortunately that's the actual plaque sizes. On page 22, the largest plate size is 7 1/2" x 9 3/4". I ordered Barhill's 11 1/2" x 13 1/2" plaques and need the black brass plates to fit these.

If that doesn't work out, another option is to use FlexiBrass and engrave & cut it out the the size you need with a laser.

Our 2005 catalogs have been pouring in. A few days ago we were going through our old catalogs to throw the ones we don't need away.
While going through the pile we came across a 2001 R&I blue book. Caporaso Sales Corp. was under shield plates and offeres the black brass plate we were looking for.

Jeff,

Caparoso not only offers shield plates in a variety of colors, but if you have your own material, i.e. Unisub sublimation aluminum, they'll fabricate plates for you. I forget what their minimum charge is, but it wasn't very steep.

Thanks for the heads up on the fabrication. We don't have much call for it, but it's nice to know when it does happen.
I don't think they have a minimum. Three large shield plates came to $14.85 and it was no problem.

Jeff,

I don't know why I didn't think of Caparoso, when I saw your original message.

A good company, with good people, good pricing and innovative designs.

An unsung hero.

We used to use Caporaso up til the early ninties when the company that placed those orders with us went out of business. Shortly after we lost the catalog and finally forgot the company name. A few days after I emailed the group, we found a 1993 catalog throwing old junk away to make room for the same new junk.
