Hi ALL! I'm really getting @$#^&* off with a "glitch that I have run into several times now when replying to a thread on this Forum. After drafting a reply, and clicking "Post", within a few seconds or longer, I get an "Action Cancelled" page instead of being directed to the thread to which I have replied.

Making matters worse, I cannot utilize the "Back" arrow to get back to my drafted reply. It is apparently gone forever, and usually involves a fair amount of time spent in drafting the reply.

This does not happen all the time. I'm wondering if this problem is with my computer and/or connection, or if others have experienced a similar situation. I utilize other forums, email, etc. and have only encountered this problem with this Forum. Hmmm.....

I have never had an 'Action Canceled' message. I have had a few disappear after clicking 'Post". That usually seems to be on long composition times, (thanks to a memory jog from another member). I would click 'Post' then there was a long delay as if there was an Internet communication problem, and it was lost.

What I do now is to highlight all of the text, press CTRL-C, to copy it onto the clip board and then post. If it disappears, go to 'Reply' again and use CTRL-V to past the message back and then post.

David L., David T., & Harvey -

(sounds like a law firm doesn't it?)

Just to let you know, (you may already know by now), I have always logged onto this site using the .org address. Today, I was unable to get to the site, it said the domain name had expired. I quickly emailed David T, as his was the first email address I could find quickly and he directed me to the .biz domain name. I have logged onto this site for so long using the address as a favorite, that I didn't even know the domain name let alone all of the optional names.
So the readership might be down for the next few days until everyone finds the .biz site.
:S

Imagine my panic when it looked like I wouldn't get my EE fix! :P

Will the .org name be re-newed or should I permanently change my favorites list?

Bob,

Is it just me???? I still get a generic screen from Who-Is and when I push the "Why am I seeing this web-site?" button, it tries to send a e-mail to the Who-Is registry that sez engravingetc.org is expired.

I got here via the engravingetc.biz name

John,

I spoke with David, and he conveyed that he had switched registrars for the domain name about ten days ago. There was a little snag in the transfer, but the EE family will be back together in no time. :-)

I sincerely apologize for the disruption.

Here's what happened:

I requested a transfer of the EE.org domain name, to a new host, well-ahead of the 5/3/06 expiration date.

Due to an authorization code snag (a code is required of all .org domain name transfers) I'm waiting for a new authorization code, which after submitting, I'm told may take a few days to restore the site, under the EE.org name.

Good thing you planned ahead for all sorts of potential problems and had a alternative address. ;-)

Ken,

I have most EE address extensions, except for .com which has been offered at over $500.

I think I've got over 30 domains at this point, for various web sites I run as well as variations on the same names. So far I've only paid extra for 2 of them. One was $100 to get the plural of my main domain (djdesigns.com vs djdesign.com). The other was expensive and I have yet to actually do anything with the name 5 months after I bought it, but I paid $1200 to get "videoart.org" so I could set up an informational portal site about video art. I wanted videoart.com but they want $9800 for that one. The $1200 stung for a few weeks, but I'm glad I grabbed it now.

On another note, I see that your .biz name expires in just over 1 month. You can go renew it at any time and add more years to that. You don't lose the month in the process. Most of mine that I know I want to hang on to I renew for 5 or 10 years at a time. It usually saves a few bucks.

BTW, HarveyOnly's pic on the homepage is broken because it's referenced to the .org address.

Naw, it was overuse of the emoticons that caused the problems. :-)

The picture was so old that it blew the transistors.

(Sounds better than the real reason, maybe we should put back the picture of the mule.)
