I was trying to clean my PM inbox and sent messages.
No problems with the inbox. Sent messages tells me there are 3 pages; Any attempt to look at pages 2 or 3 brings me to the inbox.

Can somebody check into this? (see previous post)

Also, the setting keeps changing from unread discussions to all discussions, is there a way to set a default.

The only time I have the 'Unread' change to 'all' is when I log in and there is nothing unread.

Yes it bugs me also, but John is busy on other projects.

Ken,

Have you ever been prompted to login after you were already logged in?

That occasionally happens to me, when I go to another program and come back. If I login the second time, all discussions show as unread and the color of the forum changes from my preference of "blue" to the default of "Beehive" which is a lighter blue.

If I close my browser and login again, all is well.

I haven't experienced the PM bug.

I've been putting a new Root Server online, so I've just seen this.

It's a glitch in the page code security adding "garbage" into the links, I'll be moving this forum onto the new server hopefully this week and be able to track back the bug, or have Matt over at beehive do it, but to reach those pages right now to clean up your PM's, when in the sent box, paste this into the address bar for page 2:
code:
http://engravingetc.org/forum/pm.php?webtag=EE&folder=2&page=2

http://engravingetc.org/forum/pm.php?webtag=EE&folder=2&page=2

This for page 3:
code:
http://engravingetc.org/forum/pm.php?webtag=EE&folder=2&page=3

http://engravingetc.org/forum/pm.php?webtag=EE&folder=2&page=3

(EDIT: See if just clicking the links takes you to the correct page in your sent box, might work....)

For additional pages you can just put the correct number for the page.

This will at least allow you to clean up your sent box.

The reason you are being sent back to the inbox is that the inbox is the default when the address code isn't readable.

Ken, I just noticed the original post is from a month ago, though I scan the posts here daily, I don't necessarily catch everything. You are welcome to PM or email me.

The title UGH Bugs kinda threw me, I thought it was a post about a toy or something to engrave.

Maybe we should design a new product?

John,

I'm not seeing any code in your "copy & paste" instructions.

Hmm, must the text only browser you're using, >.<

I put the code under the code area also, but they will display as links.

I traced the bug back as far as I could without changing base coding, changes at that level can do changes to lots of other pages and break other pages while fixing that page, that's why I will need Matt's help on it (or spend lots of hours learning the code down to the base code).

If I don't get an answer from beehive this week, I'll replace the code with my own to fix it. Won't be as pretty, but it'll work....

That sounds like how your browser handles cookies. When you log back in it "refreshes" the cookie.

I'm not sure what the "fix" would be. Maybe the 0.6.1 beehive handles cookies differently. I looked at some of the code, it is a significant rewrite.

John,

It's not a major deal with me. In fact, if I "hide" IE, before I go to another application, I can come back without having to re-login.

Dave & Harvey

After checking the PM Inbox, It changes to "all"; yes I believe all have been read. Does it change back to "unread" when there's a new one? - I agree with its low priority. Is someone keeping a list of low priority items for when John has time to kill?

Thanks for the work around, I'll give it a try.
