I'm finding I'm producing more and more brass plates for custom framed pictures. I've been looking for the equipments and dies to do the cutting myself.

Currently I purchase them precut from a company in Washington but it costs me a fortune to have them shipped.

Do you have any recommendtaion on either 1. Where I could purchase the precut brass or 2. The best place to buy the equipment so I can do my own cutting.

Thanks again
Jolynne

Among others, Ability Plastics in Chicago sells shears for metal. The blades are very different than for plastic, so be sure to get the right one.

The best corner rounder/notcher I have found is the '3 in 1 maxi'. I believe that Main Trophy Supplies sells that. It is constructed as a true piece of industrial machinery.

Harvey,

Do you have a website for them? And a cost of what they charge for it?

There are only about 3 corners I usually cut but am finding it really isn't cost effective to call and have them precut and mailed. Shipping is so expensive to have this done and the sizes vary so I can't order in quantity.

The corner die is 3/8 inch. It gives a round of about 1/4" radius. The lower punch will notch a corner. It also has the ability to punch a screwhole, but that is a bit more difficult to set up.

Their email address is sales@maintrophysupply.com

Go to http://www.maintrophysupply.com and you can see the punch and a good shear also.

Wonderful! Thank you Harvey.

This will be my major purchase for the 2006 tax year. Even though it isn't a huge purchase :P

They have several die available for their corner cutter. They also make a heavy duty cutter.
