Dave,

I never knew that. Very interesting.

There were several incarnations of the band, one of which, played the County Fair circuit a number of years ago.

Before that time, I believe it was one of their bass players, who mysteriouly disappeared, on his way to L.A. International Airport, to pick up a friend.

The guy was into some type of Quantum Physics (?), and supposedly on the verge of a major breakthrough, about the time of his disappearance, which led to speculation he had broken a time barrier and disappeared.

Years later, his remains were found in one of the canyons, of the Santa Monica mountain range.

Turned out, in chasing the physics breakthrough, he was going completely without sleep. He fell asleep at the wheel, while driving through the canyon and drove off the edge.

That's pretty cool.

I'm a time traveller. Every night I lay down on my bed and close my eyes. I open them again a moment later and I have been transported 6 or 7 hours into the future.

Haven't figured out how to go backwards in time yet. B-)

You win the AWARD! Yea! Ron Bush is in fact correct.

I had the pleasure (?) of seeing Iron Butterfly live once......the extended the drum solo to about a half an hour for the live show.

The organ beginning of the song was the first piece of music I learned to play on the keyboard. The bass line was the first piece of music I learned to play on the guitar....... ya gotta love American pop culture.....

Chuck,

You've been holding out on me. I didn't know you were a musician.

I can't remember the original lead guitarist's name, but I was impressed when I read his bio. He was a violinist (prodigy) at a very young age, who switched to guitar. I believe he was 17 years old, at the time of the release of IGDV.

Dave,

If you've looked at my equipment profile, you'll be able to see why it's been suggested more than once, that I learn how to travel ahead in time. :-)

Thats the difference...

the first bit I ever learned on Guitar was the start to "Smoke on the Water" by the Deep Purple followed by " The House of the rising sun" by the Animals..

Peter,

The first tune I ever picked up (always played by ear) was the melody of "Little Red Riding Hood" by Sam The Sham and The Pharoahs.

Played on one string, of course. :-)

David the un-named couple is Dennis Dwyer and his wife. I forgot to send this to you. I cannot remember Dennis' wifes name to save me (I hate it when that happens - and it happens way to often). Their business is Bay Area Awards in Niceville Florida. If I remember correct they have been in business over 15 years.

I met these great folks a few (5 or more) years ago at a PPI trade show in Atlanta GA . Dennis and I went to the same University about the same time but did not know each other. They saw me at the show Thursday morning and remembered me. (And who could forget me B-) ) I quickly invited them to our Beach Party - and to join the forum. I do not know if they have joined yet or not but I am going to send them an email and remind them. This is a great couple and would be a good addition to our group.

Sorry for the delay in this update.

Joe

Thank you Joe. I've updated the caption.

I didn't get a chance to talk to them, at the party.

Maybe next year. :-)

Sorry, guys...we've got dibs on "THE one & only" Jeanette.

Time and again, we talk about how much Roy and Randy do to help us...even folks that are NOT their customers. In fact, both of these guys have called me this weekend to help me re-learn stuff about the Xenetech rotary that we've had almost a year. (I'm a slow learner, but that's a much longer story.)

In my book, Jeanette is worth MY weight in gold. Believe me...that's about a gazillion dollars! She really is the glue that holds their organization together, and EC is fortunate to have her.

The cool thing is that when we hire her, she'll instantly be my SECOND boss.

Chuck may have the blue skies, crystal-clear oceans, white sands, and all that stuff.

But WE have chicken farms, dairies, and milk plants all around us. Talk about a fine aroma when you walk outside in the morning! How can a gal turn THAT down???
