I use a polishing compound that is a bit coarser than Novis but finer than 150 grit. It is called Brasso. :O

If it leaves any slight buff, rarely unless you really have a long go at it, I then use Novis 2 for the final polish.

I have been using it on acrylic for over 20 years.

Wow. The last I dealt with Brasso was in the Army polishing brass. It would never have occurred to me to use it on Acrylic. Thanks for the tip!
