The ARA show, in New Jersey, marked the end of the ARA show season.

Next up, are the NBM shows, which kick off at Ft. Worth, Texas, May 4-6, 2006.

To see the complete lineup, either click the banner ad, at the top of the forum page, or go to www.nbmshows.com

I usually attend the Long Beach, CA show.

Hope to see some of you there. :-)

David,
What do the initials stand for and can you please give a brief description of what you find interesting there. Is it worth a 2-1/2 hour drive and how long does it take to "do" the show properly?

Thanks,
Dee & Harv

Dee,

National Business Media (NBM) is the umbrella that A&E magazine, Sign Business and Printwear magazines fall under.

The shows are a bit more diverse than ARA shows, in that, they bring three shows together under one roof.

Even with all the variety, the shows are relatively small, compared to ARA Las Vegas and there's a much smaller sampling of engraving equipment, etc.

I would say the NBM shows overshadow the ARA regional shows, in size, but how long it takes to see the show, depends on your areas of interest.

If you have no interest in the sign business or printwear, you'll probably set the land-speed-record for how quickly you can see a show.

I know some exhibitors, who have attended in the past, but have gracefully bowed out of exhibiting, citing cost as a major barrier.

I haven't attended the educational seminars, so I can't speak to that.

I'm a little ashamed to say, what I attend the Long Beach show for, is primarily social.

It's a chance to see friends and attend the Friday night "Bash" which is the NBM-sponsored get-together, where "eat, drink and be merry" is the order of the day and it's all carried out under an ideal climate at the Pacific Ocean. :-)
